Is anyone here saving nickels?
 

Survival blog said our nickels will likely be changed over to another cheaper base metal in a few years...and they recommended loading up on the old nickels for their 75% copper content.

Anyone else think this is worthwhile?

I'm saving up an ammo can's worth of copper pennies and nickels. I think silver and gold are probably a better investment for a few reasons but pennies and nickels make a lot of sense, too.

If we get boosted back to the iron age WTSHTF it would be nice to have
some to melt down to fabricate different tools.

Honestly speaking it really could not hurt ........... whether you will be making a "killing" is open to debate( I really dont think so) because currency debasement is still currency debasement and a rising tide lifts all boats.



so the short answer is. You should collect , just dont go overboard.



you should horde in mass is silver, gold and LEAD and supplies.

Ditto that.......pick all of mine out of change and chuck 'em aside.

Can't loose by paying only 'face' value which is less than the metal.
